Wine

This « Rosé de garde » revives an old tradition of our estate: a rosé made from tannic grapes and vinified for 4 months in 3-4 year old barriques. We call it "passage en fûts". A rosé for all year round, fresh, with a beautiful structure and elegant as to its very suttle notes of oak. Recalibrate your palate to appreciate a whole different complexity and richness! Begin a beautiful journey into the land of spices and flowers, to the land of our Arômes des Maures, named after our region.

Tasting notes

The colour is a pale rose, light and slightly pearly.

The nose unfolds with elegance and complexity, offering lovely aromas that blend floral notes of jasmine and rose with fresh, spicy and vanilla-like tones.

On the palate, it offers volume, fullness and a delicate balance, where the aromas of flowers, coconut and vanilla contribute to a sweet, indulgent character

The finish is structured, it's lovely freshness makes it very drinkable.

Food Pairing

This natural wine will go perfectly with your grilled meats, but also with more Mediterranean dishes such as poultry with candied lemon and thyme, a tomato salad mozzarella burrata, or a pissaladière.

Fresh and dry Rosé wines from Provence are an excellent accompaniment to all kinds of fresh cheeses. We recommend a fresh and mild goat or sheep cheese, such as Etorki or Chavroux, or as alternatives a Brie de Meaux or a mild Comté from the French Jura.

Almost any sweet dessert is made for the Pur-Été. How about a red fruit crumble, a rhubarb pieune or a « verrine de Tropézienne aux framboises » ?

Falstaff - Rosé : Best of all time selection

Falstaff - Rosé : Best of all time selection

The Austrian magazine Falstaff, which focuses on wine, gastronomy and travel, is one of the leading wine magazines in the German-speaking world in terms of quality. With over 200,000 tasting notes and a points system similar to the Parker system, Falstaff’s tasting results are regarded as a benchmark in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as internationally. At the 2026 rosé tasting, during which Falstaff tasted more than 850 rosés (including champagne), the 2025 Arômes des Maures received an outstanding 93 points. This result also secured it a place amongst “the best rosé wines of all time”. The jury’s tasting note: "Pale salmon pink. Ripe fruit of strawberry, cherry, plum and apricot, with fine woody aromas of nougat and marzipan as well as subtle pepper spice. Dry, powerful and full-bodied on the palate at a moderate 12.5% vol., balanced and harmonious at the same time. Good balance of fruit, spice and structure."

The “Arômes des Maures” is the flagship rosé wine from Domaine des Féraud in the Côtes de Provence appellation. It is produced in a very limited edition of approximately 3,000 bottles per year. There are exactly 3,700 bottles of the current vintage (2025). What sets this unusual cuvée apart are the grape varieties – in particular the high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon – as well as its ageing in 2–4-year-old barriques. Furthermore, like all wines from Domaine des Féraud, it is certified organic.

In contrast to light, fruit-forward rosé wines, which are often served as an aperitif or with healthy Mediterranean cuisine, rosé wines in France that, thanks to their aromatic complexity, pair well even with the most sophisticated dishes are known as ‘rosé gastronomique’. The ‘Arômes des Maures’ falls into this category, as it has plenty of body, structure and a long finish. Ageing in wooden barrels gives it subtle woody and delicately spicy notes, which, however, do not mask the characteristic freshness associated with a rosé from Provence.

The Domaine des Féraud is situated in the Plaine des Maures nature reserve in the Var department. This landscape lies at the foot of the Massif des Maures, a small mountain range between Fréjus and Hyères. With its cork oaks, umbrella pines, pink sandstone cliffs and scrubland, this landscape is reminiscent of an African savannah and serves as a vital refuge for endangered Greek tortoises in France. The wine’s name thus refers to the diverse aromas of this landscape. With the ‘Arômes des Maures’, the Domaine des Féraud has revived an old tradition. In the 1990s, the Domaine des Féraud became a pioneer in the production of rosé wines aged in barriques. At that time, the wine was called Cuvée Antiopolis. The then-owner, Louis Fournier, used an ancient method to have the grapes crushed by foot.

The 'Plaine des Maures' combine the Mediterranean climate of Provence with the geological and landscape features of the ‘Massif des Maures’. Some of the plots at Domaine des Féraud also form part of the denomination ‘Notre-Dame-des-Anges’, within the Côtes de Provence appellation. Unlike the vineyards situated near the coast, winters here are cooler and summers warmer. This climate, combined with the well-drained sandy soils, contributes to the light and aromatic character of Domaine des Féraud’s wines.

The terroir designation of the Côtes de Provence Appellation was recognized in 2019. The name ‘Notre-Dame des Anges’ refers to the highest point in the Massif des Maures (767 m). The area covers 10 communities in the Var department, amongst them Vidauban. The entire sector is located on the same geological formation, Permian sandstone dating from the Palaeozoic era. Cut off from any maritime influence by the presence of the Massif des Maures, this region is subject to a Mediterranean climate with continental influences, featuring cool, wet winters and hot, dry summers. This allows the grapes to reach peak phenolic maturity whilst maintaining the acidity of the berries.
